Zenith large-screen analog projection televisions Recalled for Fire Hazard

A tear in a gasket can cause coolant fluid to leak from the picture tube assembly. This can cause smoking, charring, and electrical arcing inside of the television, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Consumers who have one of these televisions should immediately contact Zenith to arrange for a free inspection and repair.

Regent 500-watt halogen bulbs Recalled for Fire Hazard

These 500-watt light bulbs generate very high temperatures, compared to incandescent and lower wattage halogen bulbs and can start a fire, if they come in contact with curtains, clothes or other flammable material. These bulbs are intended for use in outdoor work lights and flood lamps. To meet the current Underwriters Laboratories standard, halogen torchiere floor lamps must be equipped with a protective glass or wire guard and have a halogen bulb that is 300 watts or less.

Cooper has asked retailers to add the label to bulb packaging currently on store shelves and new 500-watt halogen bulbs will contain the label. Consumers currently using these 500-watt bulbs in a torchiere or indoor residential fixture should remove them immediately. Consumers can continue to use the 500-watt halogen bulbs in work lights, flood lamps, and similar outdoor fixtures.

Xerox, Hitachi, and GCC brand laser printers Recalled for Fire Hazard

Arcing may cause the fuser assembly to overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Users should (1) switch off the printer power when unattended; (2) ensure that the "power save" mode is enabled; and (3) contact their commercial distributor for information on obtaining a free retrofit.

Baseline Design beanbag chairs Recalled for Suffocation Hazard

Some of these beanbag chairs have zippers that can be opened, allowing access to the polystyrene beads inside the chairs. This poses a suffocation hazard to young children who can unzip the chair and inhale the small beads.

Consumers should check if they can unzip their Baseline Design beanbag chairs. If the zippers can be unzipped freely, Baseline Design will provide owners with a free replacement beanbag chair with zippers that do not open. Consumers should be sure young children cannot use the chairs if the zipper can be opened freely and should be sure children are not exposed to the beads inside the chair.

Tim Hortons 15-ounce stainless steel travel mugs Recalled for Burn Hazard

The lids on some of the mugs can detach, allowing hot liquid to leak, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

Consumers should stop using these mugs immediately and return the old lids to a Tim Hortons store for a replacement lid as of February 1, 2003. Consumers will also receive a full refund if they return their mug and lid to a Tim Hortons store.

Disney Woody Doll Recalled for Choking Hazard

The Woody doll's clothing has buttons that can detach, posing a choking hazard for young children.

Consumers should immediately take the doll away from children and contact Walt Disney Parks and Resorts to receive a full refund.

Portable Wooden Cribs Recalled for Fall Hazard

If the hardware used to assemble the crib is not tight, the mattress support platform and mattress can fall to the floor. This poses a risk of injury to young children in the crib.

Consumers should stop using these portable wood cribs immediately, and call (800) 582-9359 anytime for a free upgrade kit that provides additional support for the mattress platform.

Wooden Teething Rings Recalled for Choking Hazard

It is a potential choking hazard to young children.

Consumers should immediately take the teething rings away from children and contact Magic Cabin for a full refund and a $15 gift certificate. Known purchasers were sent direct mail notification of this recall.

Polaris 2003 "Predator" ATVs Recalled for Fall Hazard

The mounting bolts on the front brake calipers were not tightened to the specified torque value. This may cause the bolts to loosen or fall out during operation, resulting in brake failure. This could result in severe injury or death.

Consumers should contact their Polaris dealer to schedule an appointment. The dealer will apply the correct torque to the front brake caliper retaining bolts.

Build-A-Bear Workshop "Founding Bear" stuffed bears Recalled for Choking Hazard

The nose of the stuffed bear can be pulled or twisted off, posing a choking hazard to a young child.

Consumers should take these stuffed bears away from young children immediately. Build-A-Bear Workshop will exchange the bear for any other item they sell of equal value or provide a Build-A-Bear Workshop gift card. Consumers should return the stuffed bears to any Build-A-Bear Workshop store or contact the firm for instructions on mailing the bear.

Back-UPS CS350 and Back-UPS CS 500 Back-up Power Supply Recalled for Fire Hazard

The power supply device can fail, causing the unit to overheat, which may pose a fire hazard to consumers.

Consumers should immediately stop using the power supply devices by turning off the power to all connected equipment, turning the Back-UPS CS off, and then unplugging it from the electrical outlet. To obtain a free replacement unit, consumers should contact the company.

Ultrex Thermal/Double Wall frying pans Recalled for Burn Hazard

The pans can explode or separate when preheated, used on high heat, or used for frying, which can pose a serious burn hazard from hot oil or food contents spilling onto consumers.

Consumers should stop using the frying pans immediately and discard or destroy the product. The firm is no longer in business, and a remedy is no longer available.

The soap may get too hot when heated in the microwave oven and leak from the tray mold posing a burn hazard to children.

Consumers should take these soap kits away from children immediately and contact Pace Products to receive instructions on returning the soap kits for a refund.

The frames on these bicycles can break, which can cause riders to lose control and crash.
