Dell Notebook Computer Batteries Recalled for Fire Hazard

These batteries can overheat, which could pose a fire risk.

Customers should contact Dell to determine if their notebook computer battery is part of this recall. If it is, consumers should immediately stop using the battery as a power source for their notebook computer. Dell will provide a free replacement battery.

GE Monogram® 36-inch and 48-inch Professional Gas Range Recalled for Fire Hazard

These ranges were manufactured with a design flaw that can cause an electrical arc between the wiring and adjacent gas supply tubes at two locations in the control housing of the range, posing a fire hazard.

Customers who have purchased one of these recalled ranges should contact GE to schedule a free, in-home repair. Until the repair is completed, consumers should stop using the griddle on the 36-inch and 48-inch models, and the left front burner on the 48-inch models. The large oven and all other burners can be used.

Children's Books Recalled for Choking Hazard

If the clear plastic container is removed from the book's back cover or breaks, young children can access the beads in it. This poses a choking hazard to young children.

Consumers should immediately take these recalled activity and board books away from young children and contact the company for a replacement book.

The probes involved have been part of the Nellcor CapnoProbeTM SLS~1 Sublingual System. The CapnoProbe system consists of an N-80 CapnoProbe device and an SLS-1 Sublingual Sensor, or probe. Each probe is packaged in a metal canister filled with a nonsterile buffered saline solution. The canister is in a sealed foil envelope. Each disposable probe is used only one time.

The product is contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia (formally known as Pseudomonas cepacia), based on the Texas Health Department analysis and also firm's analysis.

On 8/24/04 the firm issued letters via Fax to all its direct consignees, informing them of the affected product and providing instructions on the recall. The firm followed up with phone calls to all consignees completed by 8/25/04. The firm also issued a press release via Associated Press on 8/27/04.

Consumers should take the recalled magic party favors and costume shield away from children immediately and contact the company for a refund. Celebrate Express has directly contacted all purchasers of the products by mail.

Little Tree Mini Learning Cubes Recalled for Choking Hazard

Small wooden pegs in the top corners of the toy can come loose, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled learning cube toy away from young children and return it to Target for a $15 giftcard plus applicable state tax.

Honda Model Year 2005 and 2006 TRX400EX ATVs Recalled for Safety Concern

A safety defect could exist in the transmission, that could allow the rider to downshift from 1st gear into reverse, without operating the reverse assist (lockout) lever. The reverse lockout spring may not have been properly installed. Unintended engagement of reverse gear while moving forward could lock the rear wheels and cause the rider to lose control.

Consumers should stop using these recalled ATVs until the repair has been completed. Please call any Honda ATV dealer to make an appointment to have your ATV repaired. The dealer will install a kit to prevent the shift problem. Consumers with the recalled ATVs have been sent direct notice via U.S. mail.
