An insufficient connection between the lantern and the propane cylinder can allow gas to escape and ignite unexpectedly, posing a potential fire and injury hazard to consumers. This hazard can occur during the lighting or normal use of the lantern.

Consumers with Ozark Trail or Wenzel lanterns should stop using them immediately and detach the lantern from the propane cylinder. Consumers should return only the lanterns to the store where purchased, for a refund.

RM and ZM model Cadet in-wall electric heaters Recalled for Fire Hazard

When an RM or ZM model heatbox (replacing a ZA or RA model heatbox) is inserted into a ZAC wall can and wired through a fitting in the top-left wall can knock-out (see the picture), the RM or ZM model has the potential for continuous heater operation, regardless of thermostat settings or room temperature. This can cause the heater to overheat and catch nearby combustibles on fire.

If the heater is part of the recall, stop using it immediately by turning it off at the electrical panel board (circuit breaker or fuse box). Consumers should contact Cadet to schedule a free repair. In July 2001, Cadet began directly notifying affected consumers who participated in the October 1997 and February 2000 heater recalls about this RM and ZM program and began arranging service calls.

Steam Buggy™ Deluxe Steamers Recalled for Burn Hazard

The internal hose connected to the trigger in the handle can detach, allowing hot water and/or steam to escape, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

Consumers should stop using the Steam Buggy Deluxe immediately and contact Tristar customer service for information on how to ship the recalled product and get a replacement or refund. Tristar will pay for all shipping charges to return the product. Consumers were sent direct mail notification of this recall.

Portable basketball hoops Recalled for Laceration Hazard

The basketball hoops may have a sharp protruding bolt on the players' side of the pole, that can cause serious leg or body lacerations to consumers, when the bolt is exposed.

Consumers should stop using the basketball hoops immediately and contact Lifetime Products or Escalade Sports to receive free cap nuts to cover the bolts. Consumers should call and get a cap nut, regardless of whether their bolt protrudes or not.

Tough Traveler® backpack carriers Recalled for Fall Hazard

A child could fall from a carrier when the seat restraint strap is not doubled-back through the slider if the carrier's safety harness is not used. The seat restraint strap is located between the child's legs when the child is seated.

Consumers should stop using these carriers immediately and contact Tough Traveler to receive instructions on doubling back the strap through the slider.

When one of the front doors is open, a child's finger can become stuck inside spaces between parts of the hinges, causing finger crushing or pinching to occur while the door is closing.

TS11 Thermal Safety Control Valve Recalled for Fire Hazard

The lower body, with 1/4", 3/8", 7/16" inlet/outlet diameter, may have a machining defect that can create a thin wall on the bottom of the casting. The cast area may break through partially or completely in a circular pattern when rapped, causing an external leak. The leaking gas may cause a fire.

Consumers who have one of these valves should return to the point of purchase or to Invensys.

Toro-brand Commercial-grade Riding Mower Recalled for Fire Hazard

The riding mower's exhaust system can ignite fuel vapors from spilled fuel if the engine backfires.

Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled mowers and contact Toro or their local Toro dealer to determine if their riding mower's model numbers and serial numbers are included in the recall. The model and serial number are located on a decal located on the right side of the operating console below the seat. If needed, the dealer will schedule a repair of the riding mower's exhaust system.

Security Control Panel Recalled for Fire Hazard

The systems can fail to communicate with the central station that should receive the distress signal, which then would fail to alert the fire department, police department, or ambulance service. This poses a safety risk to consumers.

Consumers with these security control panels should contact their service dealers immediately to arrange for an inspection and repair. Meanwhile, in the event of an emergency, consumers should not rely on their security systems to contact emergency personnel.

SR-RN-2 and SR-RN2R Boiler Control Recalled for Burn Hazard

The controls have an electronic relay that may fail in a manner that will allow the burner to operate and by-pass the interlock with the flue damper. The interlock assures proper operation of the damper for removal of combustion gases. If the interlock fails, excess carbon monoxide emissions may occur.

Consumers who have one of these boilers should contact their local distributor or Ms. Ulli Hiltz, the Viessmann Manufacturing Company contact. Viessmann Manufacturing Company will install a wiring module in suspect boilers which will put a redundant switch in series with the switch that may erroneously close and by-pass the safety interlock with flue damper. Viessmann Manufacturing Company has contacted distributors and wholesalers and made arrangements for them to contact customers and make arrangements to retrofit the Atola-RN Boilers with SR-RN2 or SR-RN2R Controls.

Nature's Valley, Women's Formula Multivitamin Recalled for Poisoning Hazard

The supplements being recalled are not packaged in child-resistant packaging, as required under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. If ingested by children, these iron-containing supplements can cause serious injury or death.

A cap at the end of the handle of the scoop can fly off with substantial force, especially if the scoop is immersed in hot water. The metal cap poses a risk of impact injury to nearby consumers.

Portable Air Compressor Recalled for Injury Hazard

Internal corrosion to the inner wall of the air receiver tank can cause the air tank to unexpectedly rupture, allowing pressurized air to suddenly and forcefully escape, posing risk of injury to consumers.

Consumers should stop using the air compressors immediately and contact Ingersoll-Rand for instructions on returning the compressor, freight paid. Consumers will have the option of being sent a check for $100.00 or receiving a $200.00 credit towards the purchase of a new DD2T2 air compressor.

Red Devil Gas Grill Recalled for Burn Hazard

The product's design allows consumers to light the grill at an air intake tube, instead of at the burner. When the grill is lit at the air intake tube, it will appear to function normally, though gas inside the air intake tube will ignite. The tube can reach temperatures of up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit and melt the grill's plastic support piece. Grills manufactured before August 1998 that are lit at the air intake tube may collapse during use. When the grill collapses, flames from the lit grill can burn nearby consumers and ignite surrounding combustibles.

Consumers who purchased Red Devil Gas Grills from HSN prior to December 31, 1998 should return the grill, for a full refund, to HSN Quality Assurance, 1 HSN Drive, St. Petersburg, FL 33729, Attn: "Red Devil Grill Recall". Consumers who purchased Red Devil Gas Grills from HSN after January 1, 1999 will receive revised operating instructions and warning labels to be put on the locking mechanism next to the air hole, warning users not to light the grill at the air hole opening in the air intake tube.

Black Cat™ Electric Pressure Washers Recalled for Laceration Hazard

MCM International imported the pressure washers from a manufacturer in China, who installed counterfeit ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) plugs on some of the units, without MCM's approval. All of the plugs are labeled "WELLONG"; however, the pressure washers with counterfeit "WELLONG" GFCI plugs appear virtually identical to those with genuine "WELLONG" GFCIs. It will require a professional inspection to identify the counterfeit GFCIs. GFCIs are important safety devices that are intended to protect consumers against shock or electrocution.

Consumers should stop using these pressure washers and discard the product. A remedy is no longer available.

Black & Decker Cordless Electric Lawn Mower Recalled for Injury Hazard

The clips holding the control cable to the handle may be missing, which could cause the blade control device to fail and keep the mower blade running, when it should stop. If the blade control device fails, consumers could suffer serious injuries.
